My mission and What You Can Expect
What I’m committed to for you (and the people closest to you) out of our time together – is that I will bring 50 years of experience in leading, mentoring and coaching individuals and groups in what it takes to be powerful and effective in the face of life’s biggest challenges. Plus I will bring 20 years of dealing with my own hearing loss and how I applied what I taught other people to myself, and am now functioning with real power and effectiveness.
My mission is that people experiencing hearing loss know themselves as able to fully participate in all areas of their lives regardless of how much they can hear and can’t hear –and are UNSTOPPABLE in developing new-found skills to live a life they love in the face of their hearing loss!
Pretending it isn’t there is the most powerless thing you can do. The true power comes when you acknowledge the loss, not as an end, but as a new beginning. It’s about taking back control, advocating for yourself, and actively shaping your own experience.
So how will you do that?
Here are just a few of the many approaches you and I will take together:
Well, firstly, you’ll be educating yourself and others. Understanding the type and cause of your hearing loss is crucial. It helps you make informed decisions, whether it’s hearing aids, cochlear implants, communication strategies, or even simply advocating for better sound in public spaces. When we educate ourselves, we take away the mystery and replace it with advocacy.

Secondly, build your support system. Hearing loss can feel isolating, so you’ll find others who understand – that might be connecting with local groups, online communities, or even just a trusted friend or family member. That’s up to you what you’re most comfortable doing. Sharing your experiences, learning from others, and building that network provides the strength to navigate the challenges.
Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, reframe your perspective. Instead of focusing on what you’re missing, we will work together to have you focus on what you still have and discover how to empower yourself so you’re never isolated. Hearing loss can enhance your other sense, like sight, touch, and your sense of observation. It encourages you to be more mindful, more intentional, and more present. It forces you to listen more deeply, both to the spoken word as well as the silence. It can teach you the value of connection, the importance of patience, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Hearing loss is not an easy journey. There will be frustrating days, setbacks, and maybe even a tear or two. But remember, you are not defined by your limitations. You are defined by how you choose to live, by the love you share, and by the impact you make in the world. You have the power to transform your hearing loss from a weakness into a source of strength.
So, I urge you to embrace your journey with courage and conviction. Don’t hide. Don’t be ashamed or embarrassed. Instead, show the world that your hearing loss is not a barrier, but a catalyst for a more fulfilling life.
And to the family, friends, co-workers of someone living with hearing loss, I invite you to join our sessions and become allies in supporting your loved ones in being included, and in knowing what to do or what not to do. Be patient, be understanding, and be advocates for a world that truly listens to everyone.
Together, let’s rewrite the narrative around hearing loss. Let’s create a world where everyone can fully participate, everyone can be heard, and everyone can connect with each other in a meaningful way. Because true strength comes not from perfect hearing, but from the way we choose to listen to the world and each other.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
With deep love and gratitude, Linda
