Who I am and My Mission

Hi, my name is Linda Zraik.  I have had the great privilege of coaching and mentoring approximately 250,000 people in many different countries, both in person and over the web, over the past 50 years.  I’ve spent my entire adult life on the leading edge of human development, traveling and producing transformation for large and small groups of people that totally altered what was possible for them.

My expertise is empowering people to be fully related to the reality of what is so in their lives, and disappearing barriers and limitations they may have, allowing each person to produce breakthroughs in areas that are important to them.

Untreated hearing loss causes a multitude of problems in life.

I have experienced both acute and total hearing loss and the terrible difficulties that come from it.  Certainly, the psychological implications of hearing loss may include everything from shame, embarrassment and problems concentrating, to depression and low self-esteem.  Also, physical consequences may vary from headaches and tense muscles to stress and increased blood pressure.  Furthermore, there are social consequences which occur as a result of untreated hearing impairment – for example, isolation and communication problems.

Over the years, as my hearing loss worsened dramatically it became such a threatening experience that I thought I might never have the opportunity to be the best person I could be.  For many years I struggled, talking to large and small groups of people but not really accurately hearing what they said, and therefore my responses and coaching, and my overall effectiveness began to dwindle.  One day, someone in one of my programs who I respected a great deal came up to me privately and said:  “Linda, do you realize that you misheard a lot of what people were saying to you?”  That was it!  I was devastated!  She was giving me the worse possible news, that my hearing loss was making it impossible for me to communicate and coach effectively.  I had even been using special equipment to help me hear what people were saying, and yet I still grossly misinterpreted people, and I didn’t realize it.  I had to face the reality that I could no longer do what I’ve been so passionate about for my whole life.

Where do I go from here?

I needed to find some way to contribute what I’ve learned to people who are dealing with hearing loss issues.  I faced having to walk the talk for myself.   Today, my hearing loss rarely comes up as an issue because people say they can’t believe I don’t hear well because I perform with amazing power in my work.

At the point that I had no hearing left in either ear, I had a cochlear implant operation in order to hear.  As I learned to hear again, I paid attention to all the issues I had to deal with besides my hearing, and I could see the issues that other people were dealing with that they didn’t have the courage or awareness to address for themselves.

I am now mentoring people with hearing loss in order that they live the life they’ve dreamed of.  My hearing loss issues are no longer a stop or a problem.  They continue to guide me to empower people to live the life they most want to live and with full participation in all aspects of their life.

Where are you now?

You may be someone who is just starting to lose your hearing, or maybe you’ve had hearing loss for quite some time, or maybe you just had an injury and are now having to confront what are you going to do if your hearing doesn’t come back?  No matter where you are, from just beginning to sense your hearing is getting worse, all the way to you barely have the capacity to hear anything at all – I am speaking to you.

Every person has different circumstances and situations they face when their hearing begins to fail, and my job is to listen and give you the clarity, power and actions you need to participate in your life in all the ways you’ve always wanted to.

Also, if you are one of those people who are closely connected to someone with hearing loss, I am here to empower you to know what you can do and to provide a better understanding of what’s going on with that person, expanding your natural compassion and effectiveness in communicating and relating to them effectively.

Mission

What I’m committed to for you (and the people closest to you) out of our time together – is that I will bring 50 years of experience in leading, mentoring and coaching individuals and groups in what it takes to be powerful and effective in the face of life’s biggest challenges. Plus I will bring 20 years of dealing with my own hearing loss and how I applied what I taught other people to myself, and am now functioning with real power and effectiveness.
